"This mural of Wallace is on the gable end of a building in Wallace St. in Wallaceburg, southern Ontario. It was unveiled in 2005, the 700th anniversary of the murder of Wallace by the English.
Wallaceburg was named in memory of Scotland's national hero, and was founded in the 1830's.
Although the artwork owes much to the motion picture "Braveheart", it is good to see that tributes exist to the man wherever in the world Scots have travelled"

"This coat of arms of the patriot hero of Scotland stands alongside the Wallaceburg mural and tells the story of the founding of the town by a Scots born postmaster in 1837"

"This stone, which stands on the "Fir Mounth", a hill pass near Aboyne in Aberdeenshire, marks the route that Edward I of England's (Longshanks) army took during his invasions of Scotland in 1296 and 1303. The Great Montrose, famed Scottish soldier, also took his army through this pass in 1645".
